Marketing genius (mood: sarcastic)

How many of you guys here watch the local singing reality show on TV?There are many to choose from, Malaysian Idol, AF, Mentor,the one at NTV7 (which was soo bad i can't even remember what) etc. Most of them are copycats of the same show shown outside Malaysia.I seriously think that person who came up with the concept is truly a marketing genius. He/she should be given a Nobel prize or something like that.I mean, it used to be the recording company's job to invest when promoting new artistes, in fact they have to pay for the promotion, but now it's the fans who are paying for it! All those smses, not only for the 'idols' but now i noticed that people also sending smses to promote others to vote for their 'idols' in the chatspace in tv...and the charge for each sms is 50 cent!!Those smses keep coming all day long!!Darn i envy those maxis/celcom tauke!!So, at the end of the day,the telecomunication tauke(s) get richer,the winner gets to be famous, the fan...they get to cheer for the winner (plus become somewhat poorer in the process)...that's why I said, that particular person should be given a Nobel price because everyone wins (or do they? :P )
